Pompano Beach, FL, March 3, 2010. Cyclone Power Technologies (Pink Sheets: CYPW) announced today that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has issued a Notice of Patent Allowance on the valve controlled throttle mechanism of the Company’s heat regenerative external combustion engine.

The patented valve/throttle component, comprised of a uniquely designed cam mechanism driven by hydraulics, serves several important functions in Cyclone’s high performance steam engine, including: allowing the engine to self-start, thus eliminating the need for a starter motor; changing valve duration to increase the engine’s efficiency; and reversing the rotation of the pistons to allow the engine to run backwards. This last feature, along with the high starting torque of the Cyclone Engine, can help eliminate the need for a transmission in automotive applications.

“This new patent is further proof of the truly unique nature of our engine, and further protection against infringement on our designs,” stated Harry Schoell, Cyclone’s CEO and inventor of the engine. “As a research and development company, we believe our continuing investment in our patents will help assure future profitability and long term shareholder value.”

The Company received its first patent in the United States on the Cyclone Engine in 2006, and then on the engine’s proprietary combustion chamber in 2008. In February 2010, the European Union issued a patent on the engine system, which marked the Company’s sixth international patent. The Company received patent protection for its engine in Korea, China, Russia, South Africa and Australia in 2009.

Corporate Profile
Cyclone Power Technologies is the developer of the award-winning Cyclone Engine – an eco-friendly external combustion engine with the power and versatility to run everything from portable electric generators and garden equipment to cars, trucks and locomotives. Invented by company founder and CEO Harry Schoell, the patented Cyclone Engine is a modern day steam engine, ingeniously designed to achieve high thermal efficiencies through a compact heat-regenerative process, and to run on virtually any fuel – including bio-diesels, syngas or solar – while emitting fewer greenhouse gases and irritating pollutants into the air. Currently in its late stages of development, the Cyclone Engine was recognized by Popular Science Magazine as the Invention of the Year for 2008, and was presented with the Society of Automotive Engineers’ AEI Tech Award in 2006 and 2008. Additionally, Cyclone was recently named Environmental Business of the Year by the Broward County Environmental Protection Department. For more information, visit www.cyclonepower.com.

About Enecsys:
Enecsys Limited, founded in 2003 and headquartered in Cambridge UK, develops, manufactures and markets innovative solar photovoltaic (PV) micro-inverters for residential and commercial markets. The technology was originally developed at Cambridge University. More information is available at www.enecsys.com.

Editors’ technical notes
Micro-inverter architectures, with an inverter located behind each solar PV module, are now being widely deployed to overcome the disadvantages of conventional string systems with central inverters. Enecsys solar micro-inverters reduce the cost per harvested watt of energy by 15% – 25% over the life of the system. When using Enecsys solar micro-inverters, shading caused by clouds or obstructions have minimal impact on overall system performance because power is harvested from each module individually, rather than from groups of modules strung together through a string or central inverter. With the use of Enecsys solar micro-inverters the PV array design and installation is greatly simplified and cheaper to install. Additionally, installers can mix and match different modules, the system is scalable, and the modules can be located on multiple roof planes, enabling maximum energy harvest. Enecsys solar micro-inverters are designed to provide the high reliability and long lifetime necessary for placement with each solar module and safety is significantly improved with the elimination of DC wiring.
