Cyclone Power Technologies Receives Third U.S. Patent for its Green Engine

Pompano Beach, FL, March 3, 2010. Cyclone Power Technologies (Pink Sheets: CYPW) announced today that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has issued a Notice of Patent Allowance on the valve controlled throttle mechanism of the Company’s heat regenerative external combustion engine.

The patented valve/throttle component, comprised of a uniquely designed cam mechanism driven by hydraulics, serves several important functions in Cyclone’s high performance steam engine, including: allowing the engine to self-start, thus eliminating the need for a starter motor; changing valve duration to increase the engine’s efficiency; and reversing the rotation of the pistons to allow the engine to run backwards. This last feature, along with the high starting torque of the Cyclone Engine, can help eliminate the need for a transmission in automotive applications.

San Jose one step closer to plastic bag ban

SAN JOSE, CA (KGO) — The San Jose City Council passed 9-1 a proposed ordinance to ban plastic bags. It passed 9-1. But San Jose is also going after support from surrounding South Bay cities for a ban, because of opposition.

E.ON chief executive Wulf Bernotat to be succeeded by deputy, Johannes Teyssen

German energy company E.ON AG has appointed Johannes Teyssen, the company\’s No. 2 manager, to succeed Wulf Bernotat as chief executive next year. Duesseldorf-based E.ON announced Monday night that Teyssen, 49, will take over on May 1. Bernotat, 60, announced earlier this year that he would step down when his contract expires at the end of April.

Duke Energy Inks Clean-Tech Deal With China’s Largest Utility

New Jersey Plans Doubling of Solar Power

PSE&G Solar, a subsidiary of the big New Jersey utility, said Wednesday that received a regulatory go-ahead to add 80 megawatts of solar capacity in its territory by the end of 2013, effectively doubling the amount of solar power in the state.
